Obituary for Brenda Fay Stephens

Funeral service for Brenda Stephens, 63, of Cement, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Cement First Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Carpenter, officiating. Burial will follow at the Cement Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home. Mrs. Stephens passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home in Cement, Oklahoma at the age of 63. Brenda Fay (Mink) Stephens was born March 1, 1953 in Cement, Oklahoma to her loving parents, Jack and Delia Mink. Brenda lived with her parents in Cement until she married Randal Leon Remy on October 11, 1968. The couple was blessed with two children, Greg and Jennifer. They were happily married for 22 years until he passed away in 1990. Brenda then married Terry Dean Stephens on December 19, 1991 and together they had a son, Billy Dean Stephens. During the span of her life, Brenda worked very hard to provide for her family. She worked for the Cyril Nursing Home before going to work for Cement Public Schools as a Cafeteria Cook where she thoroughly enjoyed taking care of many children who she treated like her own. Kids knew Brenda�s house was always open to whoever needed a meal or a warm place to stay. She loved helping others and one special kid, Gavin Workman, always had a special place in her heart. Brenda loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and the OKC Thunder. She enjoyed spending time with the ones she loved and having dinners. She spent a lot of time with her very best friend, Debra White. They enjoyed many memories and great times together. Brenda will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Brenda is survived by her daughter Jennifer Cossey, of Chickasha; 2 sons: Greg Remy of Cement and Billy Stephens and his wife Jamie of Chickasha; 2 brothers: Jack Mink and his wife Kay, of Dibble and Hearl Mink and his wife Ina, of Cement; 4 sisters: Sandy Cogburn and her husband Clyde, of Cement, Helen Scribner and her husband Buddy, of Coleman, Jane Smiley and her husband Lawrence, of Cement, and Donna Sue Seely of San Angelo, TX; 1 sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mink, of Cement; 5 grandchildren: Jacob Remy, Valoriee Williams and her husband John, Brooke Randle and her husband Jesse, Mackenzie Remy, and Kalie Hargus and her husband Weston; and 6 great grandchildren: Channing and Charlee Randle, Braxton Williams, James Remy, and Kidd and Chesnee Hargus. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry Willis �Jack� and Delia Sarah (Gamble) Mink; 4 brothers: Don Ray Mink and his wife Gail, Clifford Mink, Jimmy Mink, and Donald Mink; her son-in-law, James �BO� Cossey; and her grandson, Brock Wayne Cossey.
