Obituary for Dorotha E. Louthen

A funeral service for Dorotha E. Louthen, 95, of Fletcher will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Fletcher Christian Church with Pastor Jim Hall, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Dorotha Louthen went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Dorotha Louthen was born February 21, 1922 to Arthur and Bessie (Shelby) Easton in Foster, Oklahoma. Dorotha married Leon Issac Louthen on February 8, 1943 in Oklahoma City. The couple was married for 69 years when Leon passed away in 2012. She worked at Douglas Aircraft C47 Assembly Plant in Oklahoma City during WWII while Leon was serving with the 89th Infantry in France and Germany. After Leon's discharge from the Army they moved their family to Fletcher. Dorotha worked and retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Dorotha was a member of the Fletcher Christian Church. She volunteered countless hours working in the church office, and preparing funeral dinners, Dorotha loved to quilt, and travel, especially camping with Leon and her three grandchildren who proudly referred to her as �Grano�. She is survived by a son, Bobby and his wife Vickie, of Elgin; a daughter, Cheryl McKnight of Kempner, TX. Grandchildren, Shane and his wife Katy Louthen, San Antonio, TX; Troy and his wife Jennifer Louthen, Louisville, KY; Victoria and her husband Shawn Walden, Kempner, TX. Great-Grandchildren Dakota and Joey Walden, and Liam Louthen. Sister-in-law, Etta Laursen of Lawton, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon Louthen, three brothers, Clarence Easton, Carl Easton and William Easton; infant grand-daughters, Paula Yvette Louthen and Charity Dawne Culbertson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fletcher Christian Church Memorial Fund.
