Mr. Sanders passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a brief illness in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 95.

Kenneth Charles Sanders was born March 7, 1922 in Elgin Oklahoma to Wiley and Laura (Wilkerson) Sanders. He was raised in the Elgin-Fletcher his entire life. He attended Elgin Schools. He married Evelyn Kelley on August 8, 1942. The two were married for 64 years and were blessed with five children, Lonnie Charles Sanders, Craig Allen Sanders, Deanna Kay Sanders, Drew Ken Sanders and Brett Eric Sanders. He served his country in Army Air Guard for two years during World War II and was stationed in Anchorage Alaska. He then went to work for Dolese Rock Company, where he retired. Before his retirement he invested in a full-service station in Fletcher and his business grew into many other investments in gas sales. After he sold his business, he and wife Evelyn were able to travel with many friends and family for thirty plus years. Kenneth and Evelyn were members of First Baptist Church for over 60 years. Kenneth was a true gentleman and a great husband and father!

He believed that a handshake was a binding contract and an act of truth! He taught his children to respect the right of others and proper work ethic. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends still on earth but was awesomely welcomed into heaven on February 15.

He is survived by 4 sons: Lonnie Sanders and his wife Dorothy, Craig Sanders and his wife Elizabeth; Drew Sanders and his wife Nedra, and Brett Sanders and his wife Robin; 13 grandchildren: Greg Sanders and his wife Kathy, Amber Crow and her husband Dennis, Brandon Sanders and Eric, Brad Sanders and his wife Amanda, Amanda Andrews and her husband Chad, Jason Sanders and his wife Lauren, Brenna Alvarez and her husband Louis III, Shawn Stacy and her husband Steve, Kristin Johnson and her husband Jeremiah, Stefanie Baldwin and her husband Robert, Chance Sanders and his wife Amanda, Whitney Boyer and her husband Justin, and Bretlin Sanders; 2 sisters: Fern Bridges and Lauretta Thomas and her husband Peachy; 2 sister in laws: Mollie Sanders and Martha Kelley Miller and her husband Marian; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Sanders; his daughter, Deanna Kay Sanders; 5 brothers: Henry, Oscar, Chester, Floyd, and Clyde Sanders; and 1 sister, Ellen Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fletcher Funeral Home to go towards his grandson’s fight against cancer.
