Obituary for L.C. Kendall

Funeral service for L.C. Kendall, 79, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Thoma, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home.

Mr. Kendall passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his home in Fletcher at the age of 79.

L.C. Kendall was born June 3, 1938 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Isaac and Hettie (Mahan) Kendall. He grew up in Fletcher where he attended Fletcher High School. After he finished school, L.C. went to work on the family farm and then later in construction with his brother, Ray. L.C. married Bonnie Spalding in 1957 and the two were married for 23 years and were blessed with one daughter. In the 1970’s, he started his cabinet building company. Eventually, L.C. bought a trenching machine from one of his brothers and dug ditches until his health no longer allowed. He married Pat Morrison on December 30, 1981 and the two have been married for 36 years. He was baptized in the Sterling Church of Christ by his brother in law, Adraine Smith. L.C. enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing dominos. He also was known for building fiddles and playing with his brother at the local fair.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Kendall, of the home; 1 step son, Carl Loftis, of OKC; 2 step daughters: Kim Carrol, of OKC and Regina Anderson and her husband Troy, of TX; 1 son in law, Dr. Daniel Lee, of OKC; 1 sister, Deloris Smith and her husband Adraine, of Sterling; his father in law, Floyd Morrison, of OKC; 3 sister in laws: Eugenia Kendall, of Fletcher, Janice Skrapka and her husband Raymond, of Norman and Shirley Chittenden and her husband Dean, of TX; 8 grandchildren: Ashley Newton and her husband Michael, Keegan, Corbin, and Emerson Lee, Brandon Loftis, and Tristan, Jordan, and Braydan Anderson; 1 great granddaughter, Savannah Newton; and numerous other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Hettie Kendall; 1 daughter, Lisa Lee; 6 brothers: Howard, Howey, Bud, J.C. Meral, and Ray Kendall; 2 sisters: Sis Stinnett and Winfred Crotwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
