Obituary for Pearlie Jean Julian

Funeral service for Pearlie (Hale) Julian, 89, of Sterling, Oklahoma, will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Sterling High School Auditorium with Pastor Matt Hester, officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pearlie passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in Duncan at the age of 89.

Pearlie Jean (Hale) Julian was born October 26, 1927 near Sterling, Oklahoma to James and Mazell (Henderson) Hale. She attended Richland School and Sterling High School where she graduated in 1946. Pearlie married Melvin Julian on June 3, 1946 in Sterling, Oklahoma. They were married for 70 years. She worked at Jeffreys Grocery Store in Sterling and side by side with Melvin for many years on the farm. She was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church and the Sterling Ladies Town and Country. Pearlie loved to work. She loved cooking, cleaning, and mowing. She loved making blackberry jelly and giving jars to visitors and friends. Pearlie and Melvin could be seen at all the ballgames and any town or school function. She loved visiting her relatives and friends and being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandson.

She is survived by 2 sons: Geary Julian and his wife Dana of Marlow and Leroy Julian and his wife Janet of Sterling; 1 granddaughter, Julie Julian of Marlow; 2 grandsons: Jared Julian and his wife Chelsea of Blanchard and Seth Julian of Sterling; 1 great grandson, Isaac Julian; 1 brother, Randell Hale and his wife Linda, of Elgin; 1 sister, Mary Ruth Wright and her husband Jimmy Al, of Sterling; and 2 special sister in laws: Patsy and Nancy Hale, both of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Julian; her parents: Bud and Mazelle Hale; 4 brothers: Billy, Charles “Sonny”, Lewis “Luke”, and Joe “Sam” Hale; and 1 sister, Elda McCracken.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sterling United Methodist Church.
