Obituary for William A. Harrison

Graveside service for William A. “Bill” Harrison, 88 of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Pecan Cemetery with Rev. Randy Shorter officiating.

Mr. Harrison passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home.

Bill was born on November 22, 1929 to Ulysses Adolphus “Liss” Harrison and Callie Adeline (Hennessee) Harrison in Hinton, Oklahoma. He attended a little country school Prairie Lee, where his uncle Alph was the school teacher and later New Hope country school and Lawton High School. He lived in Lawton most of his life and San Francisco for a short time early in his marriage. He met Wilma Cagle as a child and she became his lifelong companion, best friend and later his wife on May 30, 1953. They had a beautiful baby girl, Rhonda Lynn, on December 13, 1956 who has been waiting in heaven since July 18, 1957. Wilma has been waiting for him since February 7, 2016.

He is survived his daughter, Sandra Lynn Harrison, of Lawton and his son and daughter in law, Ronnie Dale and Vicky Harrison, of Elgin; 3 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and his granddog Josie.

Along with his daughter and wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters: Buster, Buck, Archie, Ethel, Ruby, Alma, Ray, Pod, Leon and Viola.
