Obituary for Shawn Phillip Bitsche

Shawn Phillip Bitsche of Cement, Oklahoma, left his earthly home on November 11th, 2018 surrounded by his family, at the age of 37, but his larger-than-life personality and trademark stubbornness will never be forgotten.

He was born on July 19th, 1981 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was the spoiled rotten baby boy of Phil Bitsche and the late Robbie Davis. In his childhood he earned the nickname ‘Bullet’ from how fast he could make the baseball diamond and steal more bases than you could count.

As a young boy, he admired his dad’s love for woodworking and started picking up carpentry skills and followed in his father’s footsteps. He spent his working years as a finish carpenter and he was prideful of his work. He was such a perfectionist, he critiqued the woodwork everywhere he went, if a cabinet wasn’t hung correctly he would tell you all about it and what they did wrong. (And of course, he thought he was never wrong and his way was the only right way.) He and his mom, Robbie, were inseparable and leaned upon each other day in and day out.

Shawn had many loves. He enjoyed spending time at the lake competing with family, whether it was fishing, water skiing or doing backflips. He liked four-letter words just about as much as four-wheel drive pick-up trucks. He loved to be the center of attention (or at least loved trying to be) and that went hand in hand with being the adrenaline junkie that he was. If there was a crowd he was the guy shooting artillery shells from his shoulder, riding a wheelie on a motorcycle or 4-wheeler as long as possible, even if it’s into a fence, or seeing how big of a fire he could start before the fire department showed up. He loved motorcycles, flying the ultralight, and many other similar things but nothing compared to the love he had for his children, Deano Davis, Lexi, Austin and Ryland Bitsche. He took so much pride in his children and all of their accomplishments thus far.

All four of his kids inherited traits from him, good or bad. Deano is almost just as tenderhearted as Shawn was. Lexi gained her table manners from her daddy, as she wears most of her food on her face, hands, or clothes. Austin is short-tempered, stubborn and athletic just like his dad. Ryland is Shawn Bitsche made over, no other explanation needed.
He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his survivors who include his father, Phil Bitsche; his children, Deano Davis, Lexi, Austin, and Ryland Bitsche; siblings, Michelle Peterson and husband Vern, Destin Bitsche, and Amanda Seibold and husband Brody; nieces and nephews, Braedn and Addisyn Peterson and Baylee Seibold; aunts, Diane Link and Debbie McBride; uncle, Billy Bitsche and a host of cousins.

Preceding Shawn in death is his mother, Robbie Davis; grandparents, Bill and Mary Bitsche, Thurman and Betty Bolin and uncle, Joel Bolin.

His Celebration of Life will be held alongside his mom’s at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 16th, 2018 at The Assembly in Cyril under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home.
