Obituary for Tommy Lee Thorp

Funeral service for Tommy Lee Thorp, 60, of Sterling, Oklahoma, will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Fletcher First Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Campbell, officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Indiahoma under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thorp passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his home in Sterling, Oklahoma

Tommy Lee Thorp was born May 21, 1957 in Corning, California to J.C. and Gladys (McAllister) Thorp. He grew up in Fletcher where he attended Fletcher Public Schools. Tommy worked as a diesel mechanic and in the oil field. He attended Fletcher First Baptist Church where he was baptized.

He is survived by his son, Tommy Christopher Thorp and his wife Ashley, of Idabel; 3 stepbrothers: Rick Nix and his wife Jeanie, of Elgin, Steve Bentley and his wife Lynn, of Fletcher, and Kenny Bentley, of Fletcher; 1 sister, Kathy Miller, of WA; 2 stepsisters: Mary Jo Lee and her husband Gene, of Apache and Dixie “Susie” Monks, of Lawton; and 2 grandchildren: AnnaBeth and Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Thorp and his wife Mary; his mother, Gladys Hendrix; 1 sister, Barbara Shearrer; 1 stepbrother, Ronnie Nix; and his grandparents: Tom and Clara Thorp.
