Obituary for Bobby P. Delver

Funeral service for Bobby Delver, 80, of Elgin, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Elgin First Baptist Church with Chaplain Paul Gore and Pastor Dusty Deavers, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Elgin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bobby Delver passed away on Tuesday August 15, 2017, in Lawton Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Bobby Penryhn Delver was born September 11th, 1936 in Baxter Tennessee to Irene and Pete Dodson. Irene remarried Bob C. Delver in 1945. Bobby received his high school diploma at Edmond High School, then attended Central State College in Edmond Oklahoma from 1954-1956. Bobby entered the US Army in 1968 and served proudly for 22 years before retiring in 1976. During his career of serving both the military and Civil Service, he was awarded the Army Meritorious Service Medal, Purple Heart, Numerous Army Commendations Medals.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann of the home, 1 son, Jimmy Clayton Delver and his wife Kelley Rene and their son Micah and his wife Lindsay, their children Hudson, Emma and Aspen all of Elgin. 1 daughter Diana I. Emerson of Oklahoma City and her 2 daughters: Allie and her husband Nicholas Martin and their unborn baby girl and Erin and her husband Dylan Barnes and their three children Cayden, Braxlyn and Acelyn of Decatur Texas.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Bob C. Delver and Irene Delver.

Bobby was a man of service. Not only to his country but also to his family, God, and community. He attended First Baptist Church of Sterling for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports, especially Oklahoma Sooner football. He also enjoyed fishing and bird watching with his family.
